Holy Toledo! What A Way To Finish!

That is what hall of fame Astros broadcaster Milo Hamilton said as he watched Chris Burke's 18th inning game winning, National League Divisional Series winning home run sail over the scoreboard and into the Biggio Boxes in left.

There is an old saying in baseball, "Let's play two!" But I don't think Ernie Banks had this game in mind when he said it. This game maybe the best game ever played. It certainly was the longest playoff game in history lasting 18 innings, two innings more then the previous record holder 1986's Mets Astros game that lasted 16.

Burke hit his gamewinner some 2 and a half hours after Brad Ausmus tied the game in the ninth on a two out blast that cleared the yellow line and Andruw Jones's glove by inches. Ausmus' hit came an inning after Lance Berkman blasted a Grandslam which landed mere feet from the spot Burke's landed.

The Astros also need to thank their lucky stars for a solid out from their bullpen who gave up only one run in 13 innings. And when I say bullpen, I mean bullpen. Every single relief pitcher on the staff pitched in this game. The Timeless One even pitched three innings. The Timeless One being Roger The Rocket Clemens who actually got the win in only the second relief appearance of his career.

Three wins down, eight wins to go. Next up, the Cardinals.

As a matter of fact, a guy sitting in the Crawford boxes caught both home run balls. He's giving them back to the Astros and they're giving him tickets to the next playoff game and a field pass during batting practice.

that's amazing...and I guess you say they are sending Burke's bat to Cooperstown.
