Well, someone finally got the answer so here it is. The first movie to win the Oscar Grand Slam was none other then It Happened One Night in 1934 during the Seventh Academy Awards. It would take 41 years before the next movie One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest would manage this feat.
For The Record -
It Happened One Night (1934)
Outstanding Production (Now called Best Picture) [beat 11 other films]
Best Director - Frank Capra
Best Actor - Clark Gable
Best Actress - Claudette Colbert
Best Adaptation (Screenplay) - Robert RiskinIt Happened One Night has been called the quintessential screwball comedy and has been rumored to contan the charactorizations used by the guys at Termite Terrace for such charactors as Bugs Bunny (Clark Gable eating carrots and talking fast), Yosemite Sam (Alexander Andrews played by Walter Connolly), and Pepe Le Pew (King Westley played by Jameson Thomas).
Director Frank Capra (Mr. Smith Goes to Washington) took home every Oscar in the book (well, okay, all the major ones) for this seminal 1934 comedy starring Clark Gable as a hard-bitten reporter who stays close to a runaway heiress (Claudette Colbert) rather than lose a good story. Funny and sexy, the film is full of memorable scenes often referred to in other films, such as the "walls of Jericho" (a mere bedcover hung on a line down the middle of a room so opposite-sex roommates can get undressed), and Colbert's famous flash of thigh to stop a speeding car in its tracks. Capra's brisk, urbane brand of wit was a perfect complement to his populist faith in the common man (in this case, Gable's character), and that inspired combination makes this film both a spirited entertainment and an uplifting experience. --Tom Keogh (from Amazon.com)

Well if Anonymous cheated they got the wrong year, so they didn't cheat well.
I finally gave in and cheated last night before bed. Sorry. I just couldn't think of anything. I looked up pictures from Clark Gable and picked that one out of the list having heard of it. So, I didn't post the answer since I caved. I cheated, but at least I didn't reveal the answer. Who is this Anon person anyway? I see they do a lot of quotes.
Great time with this question Will.
