In the Towering Inferno, star Steve McQueen insisted that he and other star Paul Newman had to have exactly the same number of lines of dialogue in the script.
Also, if you look close at the movie poster, Steve McQueen's name is to the left and below Paul Newman's. This allows both actors to get top billing (depending on if you read top to bottom or left to right)
