Actor Bela Lugosi was never nominated for an Academy Award in his film career. But Martin Landau won an Oscar for portraying Lugosi, in the 1994 film Ed Wood.
He performed in live-action reference footage for the "Night on Bald Mountain" sequence of Walt Disney's Fantasia. He was, of course, the demon.
Lugosi, not speaking English very well, learned his lines for the role of Dracula phonetically, resulting in the eerie, deliberate delivery of his dialogue.
