Trivia Tuesday - Bonus Edition: Overcoming Obstacles

When this actor was a child, he had a stuttering problem and talked very little. He still struggles with the problem and says he has to think about what he says carefully before saying it. To help get over his stuttering, he would write poetry, and his schoolteachers would let him read it in front of the class. Later, he took acting lessons to control the stuttering.

Although he is NOT pictured above, he is in both of these movies.

Who is this actor?

Bonus Question: What are the names of the two movies pictured, and what character did this actor play (the character's name is not needed, i.e. he played a banker, or he played a shoe shine boy).

Is it James Earl Jones? I cheated a little, but not much (hehe). I only looked up the cast of Hunt for Red October since I have no clue what the other movie is with Eddy Murphy. I saw that James Earl Jones was in HFRO and remembered hearing that he stuttered as a kid. Ironic since to me and Eric he's known as "The Voice".

"The Voice" is correct! Yeah Kim! The Bonus question is still open. Kim got The Hunt For Red October right. We still need the second movie and what the character did for both.

It is pretty ironic that the voice of Darth Vader and one of the most amazing voices in the business stutters. Can you imagine Darth Vader telling Princess Leia "You are p-p-p-p-art of a r-r-reb-b-el al-l-l-l-iance and a tr-tr-tr-trader!" or "The F-f-f-f-force is str-str-str-ong in this one"

Okay, Thie first movie pictured (top) is Coming to America with Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall pictured. James Earl Jones plays King Jaffe Joffer, ruler of Zamunda and father of Prince Akeem (Murphy).

The second movie is The Hunt For Red October as Kim said. James Earl Jones plays Admiral James Greer.

I could not figure out the top movie at all. Then, Eric came home from working so hard the past couple of days and said, "Why did Will already post the names of the movies?" I said, because no one answered him in a reasonable amount of time. He said...."I knew what it was." He's been busy though so didn't get a chance to post. So, can Eric get credit? hehehe

okay, sure, did he know the King and the Admiral?

Not sure. He just said he knew that the top movie was coming to America. Not a big deal. Great trivia question though.
