I was born in 1956. My middle name is Jeffrey. I went to Skyline High School in Oakland, California. I had no acting experience in college and in fact I credit the fact that I couldn't get cast in a college play with actually starting my career because it prompted me to try out for the community theater. Entertainment Weekly has chosen me as the only actor worthy of $20 million. Many people have referred to me as the "modern Jimmy Stewart." I am a five time Oscar nominee and a two time Oscar winner.
My first movie was a slasher/horror movie. In my movies I have been a lawyer, a baseball player, a detective, a human sacrifice, a teacher, a failed comedian, a business executive, a soldier, a cowboy, an FBI agent, a mob hit man, and a band manager.
Who am I?
Bonus points if you can name the movies for the roles I mentioned above.
Welcome, Foolish Mortals!

Ok, no cheating....
Tom Hanks
Slasher/Horror: ?
Lawyer: Philadelphia
Baseball: League Of Their Own
Detective: The Da Vinci Code? A symbologist is sort of a detective.
Human Sacrifice: Joe vs The Volcano
Teacher: Saving Private Ryan (tricky one!)
Failed Comedian: I know this, but I can't think of the name...
Bus. Exec: Bonfire Of The Vanities
Soldier: Forrest Gump & SPR
Cowboy: Toy Story
FBI: Catch Me If You Can
Mob: Lady Killers? (didn't see it)
Band Manager: That Thing You Do
Ok, checked IMDB and can't believe I missed the Mob Hit Man one...I've seen the movie, I guess it didn't stand out like the others.
And the comedian one I was thinking of something else...I was thinking it had Meg Ryan in it for some reason.
Okay, you are wrong on the detective, although you have a point I was thinking police detective. The Da Vinci Code would be better placed under teacher (i.e. professor) with SPR
Haven't gotten the failed comedian.
Bus. Exec - I will give you that, but I was thinking of another role, anyone else know?
and the Mob hit man, this is the one the gave it away for Dad.
Slasher/Horror - He Knows You're Alone
Detective - Turner and Hooch
Failed Comedian - Punch Line
Business Exec - Big
Mob Hit Man - Road to Perdition
These bonus points are like in Whos Line is it Anyway!!! Eric and I both worked on the above answers.
Could the Business Exec also be Castaway?
I had the Business Exec as Cast Away where he worked for Fed-Ex, Forrest Gump (Bubba Gump Shrimp), and You Got Mail (Fox Books)
I forgot about Turner and Hooch, I was looking for Dragnet, but I will give it to you.
1000 Bonus Points for Kim and Mick, Extra 1000 for Eric for serving our country.
Oh and an extra 1000 to Kim for mentioning Whose Line Is It Anyway? I love that show. I even watched it when it was a british import on Comedy Central before Drew Carey. Colin and Ryan were on it then, too!
Woohoo. Love them extra points.
Ok, I know I behind but I got Dragnet and Punch line. Does that mean I am old since these were some of the older movies he was in?
