I am about to finish my adventure through the Best Picture Oscar winners, as of right now I have two left to see and I should be able to finish them this weekend. Now I am going to tackle IMDb's top 250.
Here is where I need your help, please look at this list and tell me what to see first (if the name is marked out, I have seen it). Just look through and anything that stands out to you as "oh my gosh, I can't beleive he hasn't seen that movie" let me know, (you can tell me more then one movie). I will put those at the top of my list and once I see it I will review it here in my blog.
Welcome, Foolish Mortals!

The one I can't believe you've not seen is Batman Begins. This might have been the best movie I saw last year period. It easily blows the other Batman movies away. This would be #1 on my list.
If you want to finish out the top ten then you could see The Seven Samurai. Long, long, looooong movie (3 1/2 hours long) But I'm doing the same thing you are so I tackled it first. I can't say it lives up to the hype of being the number 5 movie, but it was nice marking it off my list. It's not an easy watch, I think I watched it over three days.
Taxi Driver - Just watched it. Great movie.
American History X
Sin City
Cinderella Man
Sling Blade - Mmm Hmm, I like them french fried potaters.
Lock, Stock & Snatch - Both really good. Brad Pitt's character in Snatch (his name is Mickey O'Neal by the way) might be one of my all time favorites. But be sure to use the option on the DVD to turn on subtitles for whenever he talks, nobody in the movie even understands what he says.
And I think you've seen The Big Lebowski. For some reason I remember going to see that with you.
Nope, I haven't seen the Big Lebowski, are you going to movies with brothers that I don't know?
The link is dead on my end at the moment. I'll check back on it in a little while to see if I can get to twofifty.org. But, I'll have to say from Mick's comments, I can't believe you haven't seen Sling Blade. Great movie! I'll give you my answers to this as soon as I can get to twofifty again.
Sin City should get here today, I already had it on my list. I put Batman Begins up next and then Slingblade since both Mick and Kim mentioned it.
I guess I gave up on Batman after the Govenator and the anatomically correct batsuit that Oscar Winner George Clooney, Sexiest Man 1997, wore.
I wonder if the Superman Returns perquel will be as good as the Batman Begins one.
Ok, the link is good now. "Oh my gosh, I can't believe he hasn't seen that movie" list is...
Sling Blade - excellent, strange, mmmm hmmm. Must see.
The Exorcist - are you scared?
Magnolia - love the twists and turns in this one.
Dog Day Afternoon - Pacino at his best. I loved this movie.
I'm wondering how come your list of not watched movies contain so many foreign films. You should be more wordly. :o) Then there's some older movies like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington that I was surprised you haven't seen.
I have seen bits and pieces of a bunch of films, I just couldn't tell you that I have watched the whole movie, so I won't take it off the list until I am sure.
The Foreign films on the list are usually things that are seen in the states. For example, wo hu cang long is actually Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon's original name in it's country of origin. If you click on the little circle with the i in it, it will give you the IMDb page for it and you can see the american name on the picture.
As for the Exorcist, that is going to be the hardest for me because I hate horror. Or at least the type of Horror that scares the bejeebers out of you. I like my bejeebers, I want to keep my bejeebers, I like saying bejeebers. Now Silence of the Lambs is considered horror, but it is a different style of horror.
Ok, maybe I saw the Big Lebowski with Dave, my roommate in college. Weird, I could have sworn it was you.
Forget the older Batmans ever existed, they have nothing to do with the new one.
But the Exorcist is 1970's horror. It's not scary at all. Even the make-up is laughable now adays. You won't be scared! Now, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, that's a scary movie. The actress who played Emily Rose, Jennifer Carpenter, was absolutely amazing in this role. The way she contorted her body and made some of the ugliest faces... it really made me believe she was possessed. It was an extremely long leap from playing the foreign exchange student on American Pie.
? That would be a big leap, the foreign exchange student in American Pie was Shannon Elizabeth.
I will be able to watch the Exorcist, it just isn't my favorite genre.
By the way, Anonymous Ken did make a list but for some reason it didn't go through so he is having to re-do it...and he is taking his sweet time of it, something about having to work. Can you beleive it?
Oh, I thought it was the same girl. My bad.
The one film that stands out to me is The African Queen. It's one of my all-time favorites. Of course, my list of favorites would look much different than the top 25 list.
AD (Boots Tex)
The African Queen is not in Netflix, I will have to find it elsewhere.
12 angry men. Great movie
Harvey - but beware, strange things start happening. Ask me some day about the play we did when I lived in Midland
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (and always sing the title) Great John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart movie.
