I was born with a different name then I am known by today. I started in the motion picture business at the tender age of 17...months, that is. I legally changed my name to what it is now when I was 12 years old. According to a good source, me, a very famous and very loved fictional character is named after me. I also claim that I was the guy that gave Norma Jean Baker her stage name...Marilyn Monroe. I have played the same character in 15 different movies and no, it wasn't James Bond. I am also known for making a lot of movies with a certain young lady actress who said I was "the world's greatest talent." I am more known for my early roles but I have working continuously since the beginning.
Who am I? Who was the fictional character named after me? Who was the "certain young lady actress"?
I am Mickey Rooney. According to one story, Mickey Mouse was named for me. Walt Disney saw me while he was working on the first drawings of what was to become Mickey Mouse. He asked me what I thought of the drawings and also asked what my name was. That "certain young lady actress" was, of course, Judy Garland. Thanks, Mick, Thousand Points for answering correctly.
