Okay, so now what...The Alphabet Project

I have just finished a big challenge for myself, watching all the IMDb's Top 250 movies that I haven't seen. From now on I will just maintain (watch new ones as they appear). So anybody have any suggestions on a new project for me? Because this one was fun. I am toying with the idea of watching the whole alphabet, each movie title would start with a different letter (i.e. A for Airplane!, B for Bagger Vance, C for Cape Fear, etc... to Z for Zulu) [is there any movie that starts with Y except Yentl? Ugh]. I have already watched all of the Oscar winners for Best Picture. Don't worry though, I will be watching tons of other movies and commenting on them. So, any suggestions?

Edit: I have decided on doing the Alphabet Project (But keep the suggestions coming!) and I thought I might make it a little interactive. During my lunch hour I have come up with a list of movies for the project (probably one a week). Here is where it gets interactive, I will decide what movie I will watch next, and you get to guess what it is before I post it. Anybody who actually guesses right will get to pick out a movie for me to watch and review (I'm pretty sure no one will) but this way we will see how many movies y'all can think of that start with certain letters. Should be fun, so starting now, what "A" movie will I watch? (Note: All the movies that I have picked, I have not seen before today, and the ones listed above are NOT the ones on my list. Be creative, the movies I picked span the gamit from b-movies to Japanese Anime. I didn't pick obvious movies, or blockbusters, but if it sounds interesting, I may end up watching it.)

you could watch a movie from every year from the invention of the moving picture to the present time. or even some time in the future, if you so desire.

Yeah I had thought about that one. That is definately a good idea.

I'm guessing: "Aguirre:theWrath of God", but there are so many movies starting with the letter (word) "A".

That's what makes it so fun, BTW, Aguirre: The Wrath of God is not the movie.

Take as many guesses as you want, and have some fun trying to find obscure titles, the more the merrier.

Great idea with the ABC thing. I thought I had mentioned a series you could do, but I don't remember now what it was and I'd have to go back and look at all my comments on here.

OK, my input for the A movie is "Adaptation". Excellent thinker movie with Nicolas Cage and Meryl Streep. How are we going to know whether you've seen it or not?

Good question, I don't know, except that it won't be in the top 250, or an Oscar winner for best picture, since I have seen all of them. There are so many movies out there that if anybody actually guesses right, it would be like winning the lottery. Adaptation is a good guess, wrong, but good. I am probably going to use your suggestions as future movies to watch. Both your guess and Dad's are very interesting choices.

You can got to this website and see all the movies I have on DVD:

When you're doing the alphabet, would, say "A Bug's Life" be an "A" movie or a "B"? And would, say "The Aristocats" be a "T" or an "A"? You wouldn't be watching "The Aristocats" would you?

I will use conventional organizing methods, "a"s and "the"s at the beginning of titles won't count. So A Bug's Life, will be a "B" movie and The Aristocats will be an "A" movie. And in fact, several of the movies I have selected fit into this catagory (with either "a" or "the" in the title.) The Aristocats is not the "A" movie I will be watching as I have already seen it.

How about "Albino Alligator". I only pick this one because it's directed by Kevin Spacey, one of your favorite actors. I haen't seen it, though it looks interesting and I liked the title. :o)

Am I to late to try?

How about Amelie, the french version

You can keep trying until I actually post. I am trying to aim for Wednesdays.

I have seen Amelie, the French name is actually Le Fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain, so that would make it an "F" movie.

Welcome Back Impman.
