Black Snake Moan (2007)

A God fearing bluesman, Lazarus (Samuel L. Jackson) finds a young woman, Rae (Christina Ricci) on the side of the road near his house. She is half naked, severely beaten and near death. She is known around town as the town slut who will sleep with anything that moves. Hilarity ensues as Lazarus takes it upon himself to cure her of her wild ways to the point of chaining her to his radiator and nursing her back to health. As the two get to know each other they help each other overcome hardships from their past. Watch The Trailer

Trivia: Christina Ricci wore an actual forty pound chain during filming. The title of the film derives from the Blind Lemon Jefferson song recorded in 1927.

This was actually a pretty good movie. I really like SLJ and he didn't disappoint me. Both SLJ and Ricci were wonderful, especially when they were together. And Justin Timberlake was a surprise, he was pretty good in his part, imagine that. I really think this could have garnered some Oscar buzz, but it was too late for last year's and it may be too early for this year's.
