Sunday Night Trivia: Grand Slam

*Rapid Fire Round*

Name the first movie that won the Oscar Grand Slam (Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Writing, Best Director, and Best Picture). Also name the Actor, Actress, and Director. (hint: If you have read my blog for a while, you will probably know this one, otherwise, some of you probably haven't even heard of this actress.)

I know the first movie to win all five was It Happened One Night

Director I think was Capra (I suck at directors)
Actor was Clark Gable, no?
No clue on the Actress so I'll guess Claudette Colbert

You got it.

Frank Capra, Clark Gable, and Claudette Colbert won for It Happened One Night. By the way, Robert Riskin won the Best Writing - Adaptation Oscar.

Claudette Colbert?! No way!

I've yet to see this classic (other than the scene where they're getting ready to go to sleep). I should probably put this on next year's Resolution list.

Yeah, you should.

I remember this entry in your blog and now I know where I've read about Claudette. I have short term memory problems, I believe it's called old age.

Kim, that was two years ago. Not very short term.

Agra, I would say watch it if you have seen the other two movies to win the slam, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and Silence Of The Lambs just so you can say you saw all three. Otherwise, it is a pretty good screwball/romantic comedy at best.

Well, I have a feeling that I won't be able to see it until I get back home. But, I'll try to make it priority on my list as soon as that happens (10 months, four planned trips to different countries (three already booked) and counting).

I have seen OFOTCN and SotL already, but they deserve another watch---maybe worth a weekend marathon
