When you first saw the shower scene in Psycho where the blood was running down the drain or the fight in Raging Bull when blood was dripping of Jake La Motta (Robert De Niro)'s face, did it make you hungry?
Well, it should have. A common trick among movie makers shooting black and white films is to substitute chocolate syrup for blood. It looks the same on screen and is less expensive then stage blood. Oh, and it is safe to put on an actor's skin or in their mouths and it is easier to get out of clothing.

Where do you get these things. I wouldn't mind using chocolate instead of blood anyday.
