DVD Review: Oh Behave!

The Movie: When the evil genius Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) escapes by cryogenicly freezing himself and launching into space in the late sixties, British Agent and International Man of Mystery Austin "Danger is my middle name" Powers (umm...Mike Myers) volunteers to be frozen in case Dr. Evil ever returns. The movie shifts to the 1990's when Dr. Evil resurfaces. The British Ministry of Defense thaws out Austin and pairs him with Vanessa Kinsington (Elizabeth Hurley) to save the world. Both Dr. Evil and Austin Powers struggle to fit in after thirty years. Dr. Evil has a son Scott (Seth Green) that he has never met. Austin tries to adjust to life away from his swinging 60's. Hilarity Ensues.

The DVD: The DVD has some good features in it. The deleted scenes include two alternate endings in true Bond style. The commentary by Mike Myers and Jay Roach is hilarious.

The Experience: This movie parodies just about every spy film I have ever seen. It is amazing. As Dr. Evil says, "Why must I be surrounded by frickin' idiots?"

The Aftermath: The Austin Powers franchise is strong. Two sequels have been made to date. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me with Mike Myers in three roles (adding Fat Bastard) and Austin Powers in Goldmember with Mike Myers in four roles (adding Goldmember) continues the hilarity.

The Score: 8 out of 10 Sharks With Frickin' Laser Beams Attached To Their Heads!, what do you think?

When I first saw Austin Powers in the theater I really didn't think it was funny...but the second time I saw it I thought it was hilarious.

The second movie was the best of three.

"Send in the clones"

Love all of them. We are huge Mike Myers fans and we all quote the Austin Powers movies all the time. Brad always calls Eric "Faasher". Love it love it.
