Desmond Llewelyn played Q in 17 Bond movies: From Russia with Love (1963), Goldfinger (1964), Thunderball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967), On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), Diamonds Are Forever (1971), The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983), A View to a Kill (1985), The Living Daylights (1987), License to Kill (1989), GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), and The World Is Not Enough (1999).
Llewelyn did not appeared in only three of the current Bond films (Casino Royale, the 21st Bond movie is in pre production). Peter Burton was Major Boothroyd in Dr. No (1962), the very first Bond film. Llewelyn was omitted from Live and Let Die (1973) because producers Harry Saltzman and Albert R. Broccoli felt that too much was being made of the gadgets and they would play it down. Llewelyn said he "was quite disappointed." Llewelyn was killed in a car accident on December 19, 1999. John Cleese took over the role in Die Another Day (2002)
Llewelyn was Q to all five Bonds (Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan).
Bonus Question: The picture above shows Q telling Bond about his new Astin Martin, including a passenger ejector seat.
Q: Now this one I'm particularly keen about. You see the gear lever here? Now, if you take the top off, you will find a little red button. Whatever you do, don't touch it.
James Bond: Yeah, why not?
Q: Because you'll release this section of the roof, and engage and then fire the passenger ejector seat. Whish!
James Bond: Ejector seat? You're joking!
Q: I never joke about my work, 007.
Can you name the movie?

You didn't include Peter Sellers as one of the "Bonds". As you know, he appeared as Bond in the original "Casino Royale". Do you not consider that movie a "Bond movie"?
Actually the Original Casino Royale (1967) was not considered an Official Bond movie although it was very funny. David Niven played the original James Bond and took over MI-6 Ian Fleming once said the he modeled Bond after David Nevin. At one point Niven declared that every agent be named James Bond, thus Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, Daliah Levi, and Terence Cooper are all called James Bond. Woody Allen played James Bond's nephew Jimmy Bond. By the way, Q was played by Geoffrey Bayldon in this movie.
The plot of the book was so canablized for the other movies that the only resemblance is the casino itself.
More info on Casino Royale. It was the first Bond book, but when Eon Productions bought the movie rights for Flemings books, they didn't buy the rights to Casino Royale. Eon Productions has produced every other Bond film.
Okay, the picture and the quote came from Goldfinger.
