Trivia Tuesday: Il Bocca della Veritá

In Roman Holiday (1953), Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck, and Eddie Albert, and a friend visit Il Bocca della Veritá (The Mouth of Truth) in Rome during a day to remember.

How many Academy Awards (if any)and Academy Nominations (if any) are represented by these actors (over their entire careers)?

Bonus Question: What do Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck have in common (I am looking for something specific, not common like 'they were both in Roman Holiday').

Whoa, I didn't know there was an Academy Award winner in the family.

She's pretty enough to be one.

Oh my goodness, I'm standing beside Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn (I forget the other guys name). I’m star struck (hehehe). You totally made me crack up when this popped up this morning. What a hoot. You should do some of those invisible actor scenes where you guess the movie. LOL, I'm still giggling. So this is why you wanted the picture of me at the Mouth of Truth.

OK, for the questions, I think we've discussed Audrey before, but I can't remember how many Oscars she has so I'll guess two with four nominations.

Gregory Peck has one for sure for Two Kill a Mocking Bird, but I'm having a hard time thinking of other movies he's been in, so I'll guess one Oscar with 3 nominations.

The other guy? Oh, what is his name? I can picture him in other movies, mostly comedy. Argh.

Then there's this mystery woman in the middle. At least four or five Oscars for dramatic childhood meltdowns and I'm sure she's been nominated a number of times, maybe 10, for performances worthy of the award. LOL

So 8 Oscars and 17 nominations? Well, it's not quite that many. You are right (kinda) on Gregory Peck, he won one Oscar for To Kill A Mockingbird, but you are under on his nominations. On Audrey Hepburn, sadly you have given her more Oscars than she actually has, but not enough nominations. I can't say over or under for Eddie Albert cause you didn't guess. And as for that last person, she is VASTLY underappreciated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, but not by her family. We love you, Kim.

Okay, this was a hard one so I will let yall off the hook. The andswer is 2 and 12. Audrey Hepburn won the Oscar for this movie, her first american movie. She was nominated 5 times (Roman Holiday, Sabrina, The Nun's Story, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and Wait Until Dark). Gregory Peck won for To Kill A Mockingbird and was nominated 5 times (The Keys of the Kingdom, The Yearling, Gentleman's Agreement, Twelve O'Clock High, and To Kill A Mockingbird). Eddie Albert was nominated twice (Roman Holiday, and The Heartbreak Kid).

Both Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn have received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. The Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, an Oscar statuette, is given to an "individual in the motion picture industry whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry."

In Ms. Hepburn's case, the Board of Governors voted to give it to her on January 12, 1993. Ms. Hepburn passed away eight days later on January 20th. The award was accepted on her behalf by her son, Sean Hepburn Ferrer.
