It’s a little too late
I’m a little too gone,
A little too tired of this hangin’ on
So I’m letting go while I’m still strong enough to
It’s got a little too sad
I’m a little too blue
It’s a little too bad
You were too good to be true
I’m big time over you baby
It’s a little too late
I’m a little too gone,
A little too tired of this hangin’ on
So I’m letting go while I’m still strong enough to
It’s got a little too sad
I’m a little too blue
It’s a little too bad
You were too good to be true
I’m big time over you baby
It’s a little too late
Oh my goodness. The national media is crazy. Someone over at FilmWise.com mentioned to me that they started to get concerned when they saw that we faced "certain death". I kind of brushed them off saying yeah, it's serious but I have prepared as much as I could. I have been watching local coverage all day so I decided to switch to CNN as a change. Holy Cow! The world is going to end! In thirty minutes I heard Wolf Blizter say "get out or face 'certain death'" at least 25 times, plus it was plastered all over their crawl. I had no idea it was that bad. They got the quote from a National Hurricane Center statement. Yes, this hurricane is going to be devestateing to Galveston and the coastal counties. Yes, an estimated 40% of the residents in Galvestion have reportedly decided to ride out the storm even after mandatory evacuations were announced. Yes, that is extremely stupid and based on the projected storm surge will cost a lot of lives, but "certain death"? I think the problem was Hurricane Rita. We in Houston have so many terrible memories of the Rita Evacuation (it took me 5 hours to get the 30 something miles to my parent's house). Some people spent upwards of 20 or 30 hours in cars trying to get out of Houston only to have Rita jog east at the last minute and leave Houston virtually untouched. For a long time Ike looked like it would do what Rita did so people decided to chance it. In 1900 Galveston was struck by a hurricane that killed 7000 people and is still the worst natural disaster in American history. Ike will not come close but more people will die because they didn't want to evacuate, but "certain death". wow.
